One of my favorite websites is a simple video site that posts five family-friendly, funny or educational videos every day. Today, the site included a video that caught my attention because it talks about the meaning of “success.” Too often, I find myself having conversations with students, young people between the ages of eleven and thirteen, who are worried about even the smallest deduction in points or the pressure they feel from others or put on themselves when it comes to material success or monetary reward. In each of those conversations, I try to find a moment to remind them that it is far more important to me that they are able to find happiness in their lives and that they add to the lives of others.
This was inspiring to me, so I thought I would share it.
